State Forest of the Watagans

the Watagan Mountains are a must for visitors.

The Park and State Forest is a stunning

pristine wilderness area, which offers visitors

graded bushwalking, bird watching,

scenic lookouts, sparkling waterfalls and

well maintained picnic and BBQ areas.

Nestled at the foot of the mountains are the

communitiesof Cooranbong, Dora Creek, Morisset, Mandalong and Martinsville.

Accommodation is available in these villages and the

rural hinterland Camping is possible at designated

camping areas within the Watagan Mountains.

The easiest way to access the Watagan Mountains

National Park & State Forest Area is at

Martinsville Road, Martinsville via Cooranbong.

Stunning lookouts are spread across the mountains

and these include; Hunter, Heaton, Gap falls,

Monky Face and Muirs.

Must see places include; The Pines,

Boarding House Dam mossy wall and Gap creek.
